Building
The library is housed in a spacious building. The main building accomodates the librarian's office, stack room area and technical section etc. The reading room is housed in a separate building disjoined from the main building.
Location
Library is located at the centre of the city, a stone throw away distance from the main bus terminal and railway station.
Staff
The library staff is intertransfferable with other educational institutions in the state.

The library has a total collection of 77,000 documents. More than half of the collection is literature in different english languages.
The library subscribes 11 newspapers in 4 languages i.e. English, Hindi, Punjabi and Urdu. The library also subscribes 5 magazines in English, Hindi and Punjabi.

The library opens for public from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm The library remains closed on Fridays and last Saturday of every month and all the gazetted holidays.
