Rajkya Sarvajanik Zila Pustakalya (District Library), Bundi
Origin
Bundi is district in Rajsthan state of India with headquarter at Bundi. It is also famous as Queen of Hadoti. The town was named after a Meena Chieftain Bunda.
The library was established in 1953. It was started at the Sadar Bazaar in the 3rd floor of a building. Later it was shifted to its own building at the present location in November 2005.
Building
The library has single storey building with a Reading Room, Stack Room, Circulation Counter, Librarian's Room, Office, Store and Living Room for Chokidaar etc.
Location
Bundi is located at distance of around 470 Kms from national capital New Delhi and about 210 Kms from the state capital Jaipur. It is sourrounded in the north by Tonk district, in the west by Bhlwara district and in the southwest by Chittorgarh dictrict.
The library is located inside the Govt. High School premises on the Khoja Gate Road in the Civil Lines area.

Collection
The library has a rich collection of 45,000+ books. The whole collection has been divided into many general and special sub-collections arranged according to DDC-19 classification scheme.
The library also maintains a small but valuable collection of rare books.
The library subscribes to 12 newspapers in English & Hindi and 38 magazines.

Membership
The library offers membership for a period of one session (1st April to 31st March) and is renewable thereafter. The membership fee is as under,

Information Technology
The library is shortly to acquire computer and other supporting hardware for office and automation use.
Working Hours
The library remains closed on every Tuesday. The library timings vary according to the season.
- Summer (Ist April to 30th September) 12:00 noon to 8:00 pm
- Winter (Ist October to 31st March) 11:00 am to 7:00 pm
