Rajkya Sarvajanik Zila Pustakalya (District Library), Nathdwara
Origin
The library was established in 1956 as District Library of Udaipur district as the Udaipur city already had a divisional library. After the formation of Nathdwar district the library was renamed accordingly as District Library of Nathdwara.
Building
The library was started in a rented building from Srinathji Temple Board. Later a new state of the art building was build for the library. The first phase of construction was completed in around 1995. Also the library has a basement that is being used as the storage. The First Floor has the children section, women section, senior citizen section and old books store. The Second Floor has the main Stack Hall and a Reading Hall. The Third Floor consists entirely of a multipurpose hall.
Location
The library is located near the Srinath Temple on the Rampura Road. It is around 3-4 Kms from the city Bus stand.

Collection
The library has a rich collection of 40,000+ books. The whole collection has been divided into many general and special sub-collections.
The library subscribes to 7 newspapers in English, Hindi & Gujrati and 40 magazines.

Membership
The library offers membership for a period of one session (1st April to 31st March) and is renewable thereafter. The membership fee is as under,
Membership Fee: - All Categories Rs 21 (form price Rs 1 and membership card charges Rs 1)
Information Technology
The library has a computer for office use with internet connectivity. The library is also automating its collection using e-pustakalya. Photocopy facility is also available for library members at the nominal rate of Rs 1/page. In children section and TV is available for younger members.
Working Hours
The library remains closed on every Tuesday. The library timings vary according to the season.
- Summer (Ist April to 30th September) 12:00 noon to 8:00 pm
- Winter (Ist October to 31st March) 11:00 am to 7:00 pm
