Rajkya Sarvajanik Zila Pustakalya (District Library), Salumbar (Udaipur)

Origin

Salumbar is city in Udaipur district of Rajasthan.

The library is the district library of Udaipur district but as Udaipur already has Divisional Library the district library was established at Salumbar. It was established in 2007.

Building

The library is presently is presently offering its services from the temporary location at the Govt Higher Secondary School premises. A new building is under construction and will be ready shortly. The new building is single storey with Stack Room, Reading Room, Computer Room, office etc.

Location

Salumbar is at a distance of about 650 Kms from national capital New Delhi and at a distance of about 425 kms from state capital Jaipur.

The library is locted on the Udaipur-Sulumbar highway near the Govt. Higher Secondary School. It is about 1 Km from the city bus stand.

Collection

The library has a rich collection of 6500+ books.

The library subscribes to 4 newspapers in English & Hindi and 50 magazines.

Membership

The library offers membership for a period of one session (1st April to 31st March) and is renewable thereafter. The membership fee is as under,

Information Technology

The library is yet to acquire computer and other related material.

Working Hours

The library remains closed on every Tuesday. The library timings vary according to the season.

• Summer (I^st April to 30^th September) 12:00 noon to 8:00 pm
• Winter (I^st October to 31^st March) 11:00 am to 7:00 pm
