Origin

The library was established in the year 1947 to "promote understanding between the people of South India and the United States."

Collection

The library is rich in both print and non-print resources. It has 14000+ books, 140+ jouornals, US Government publications and numerous reports. Membership

The librry access is open to all (Read Security Notice here) but some of the library services are available to registered members only. The membership is open to all citizens of India aged 18 years or above. The membership is subject to rules and regulations of the library. Also the library is fully equipped with state of the art ICT and documentation facilities.

Events

The library organizes an event of saturdays called 'Saturday Matinee' where popular Holywood movies are shown to visitors. Its a great attraction at the library.
