District Library Mansa
Origin
District Library Mansa was established in December 1995, after the formation of the Mansa District on 13thApril, 1992 from the erstwhile district of Bathinda.
Building
The library occupies a rented building. The building appears more like a residence rather than a library but the difference parts have been divided into different functional units of the library very efficently. The main entrance opens towards west on to the 92 Traffic Road but for convenience the access has been provided through a additional door in the north, linked to the Traffic Road by a narrow street.The Building has been divided into two parts by an courtyard. On entering the building the Librarian's Room is just in front and on the right is the Stack-cum-Reading Room. On the other side of the courtyard i.e. left hand side, There are Toilets, Stack Room and Reference Section. A new building for the library is in plan.
Location
The city of Mansa is 316 Kms from Delhi and 173 Kms from Chandigarh. The library is located a little distance away from the Mansa Bus Stand in the heart of the city. It is located on the 92 Traffic Road near Sewa Singh Thikri Chowk.
